The sixth edition of our flagship, The Celt, lands again as a triple distilled peated single malt, but this time, with a twist. Distilled back in 2016, we decided back then to use a barrel of a winery quite close to us to mature the whiskey: Anima Negra Mallorcan wine. It's distinctive Mediterranean character and mineral salinity, alongside the French oak influence were, in our opinion, the perfect match for our peated whiskey. And after 10 years maturing in that 225 litres cask, we are delighted with the results. Unlike other releases from the Celt this is slightly stronger bottled at 48%
Nose: Mild bonfire smoke, fresh peppercorns and mineral brine. Hints of earthy undertones and blackcurrant.
Palate: Smooth but with personality, with presence of iodine smoke, seaweed and dried leather. Hints of orchard fruits and lemon zests.
Finish: Medium, with pronounced peat intensity and touches of mineral lemon peels

Adding a few drops of room temperature water to a pot still or single malt expression above 46% ABV opens the ester character and integrates the oak. Over a large ice sphere it becomes a more contemplative drink that evolves as the temperature rises.
