Glenfarclas

Lovely Glenfarclas, still family owned and still making great whisky. The Grant familly have owned Glenfarclas since 1865 although it was originally founded in 1836. There are certainly no flies on the Grants, they have always been forward thinking and even in the late 1800s they were spending a lot of money on advertising. Though they spend proportionally less these days on advertising they have been regularly expanding and improving the distillery. Thankfully the quality remains just as good as it ever was and the house style is typical Speyside-esque with a good whollop of Oloroso sherry maturation. The distillery still uses direct firing to heat the stills and they have 30 old dunnage style warehouses on site. There are six stills and around 3,000,000L of alcohol is made every year.
