Great Northern Distillery

Operational since 2015, the Great Northern Distillery is Ireland's largest independent distillery which operates two distinctive stills — pot still and column stills. Enabling them to produce a diverse range of spirit including grain, pot still, triple distilled malt, double distilled malt and peated spirit.

 

Celtic Cask Fiche A Cuig used heavily peated single malt from the Great Northern Distillery in Dundalk. It was matured in a small (55 litre) Sherry cask which can speed up the maturation. After three years, we were astounded by the quality and thought it merited being a Celtic Cask. We had no intention of bottling this expression until it was 10+ years old, but it was received exceptionally well by consumers and critics alike.
