Gordon & MacPhail Independent Bottlers

Gordon & MacPhail are Independent Bottlers based in Speyside. They have been bottling Single Malt Whiskies for over 120 years. Gordon & MacPhail started life as a retailer but has grown to include a number of different business entities as wholesaler, exporter, bottler of Single Malt Scotch Whisky and as well as remaining a retailer. It is also the owner of the Benromach distillery in Forres. The company is owned and directed by 3rd and 4th generations of the Urquhart family. Gordon & MacPhail is recognised for its great foresight in holding on to whisky stocks for the next generation, thus producing some very old and interesting releases. It has vast quantities of stocks to draw from when choosing its bottlings. Many of the company’s releases are even semi-official, with permission from the original distillery to create a label in line with branding and some even have the distillery listed on the front label. During the 1960s, Connoisseurs Choice was launched featuring a special range of single malts. Up until this time, many of the whiskies may not have been available as single malts. To this day, the range remains an exclusive nature featuring a variety of rare single malts from distilleries throughout Scotland.
