Sasso dei Lupo

The winery of Sasso dei Lupo emerged after the break down of one of the most important co-operatives in Umbria, Cantina Sociale Colli Perugini in 1967. A group of members gathered gathered to expand their production capabilities and today consists of more than 1000 members, making it one of the largest wineries in the region. This occured at a time when there was high demand for large volumes of bulk wines from bottlers in Italy and abroad. The group have worked hard towards escaping from this tradition and instead move towards producing for a market more concerned with lower yields of high quality produce. The co-operatbve prides itself on its stong spirit of innovation, desire to improve and a willingness to respect those values which have brought honour to the region in recent years.
