Dalmore
Dalmore is situated north of Inverness in Alness overlooking the Black Isle. It was founded 1839 by Alexander Matheson and has gone on to become a large and highly regarded distillery. It has the same ownership as Whyte and Mackay (Vijay Mallya) with a lot of production going into that blend and some others. The 12 year old has been a very dependable single malt over the years and they have also made some good malts specifically for partnering with cigars. The distillery has eight stills and makes 4,200,000L of alcohol a year.
