Kilchoman

Kilchoman was formed as a traditional farm style distillery on Islay in 2005. It has a very small capacity, roughly the same as Edradour distillery and has a maximum output of just 90,000 litres per year. Therefore we are very lucky to have it. Kilchoman is still a young distillery but the releases so far have been impressive. The style is slightly nutty with a good whiff of peat smoke. The distillery grows its own barley on the attached farm and operates two small pot stills.80% of their whisky is matured in bourbon cask with the remainder going into oloroso sherry casks.
