Pinot Noir

Often described as a 'difficult' variety, Pinot Noir is a fickle beast that only likes certain conditions, perfect weather and must also be handled carefully in the winery. It is, however, capable of producing amazing wines that have an sensual quality with perfumed aromas and silky smoothness. The best examples come from Burgundy whilst great wines can also be found in Oregon, California and New Zealand. Pinot Noir does best in marginal climates where vintage variation can often become a big issue.
