The Bridge Single Malt Irish Whiskey - St Mel's No. 1 Single Cask Release
This release marks Lough Ree's first adventure into beer cask aged whiskey. The Single Malt used was aged for 6 + years in first fill Bourbon Cask and then finished for several months in a Red Wine cask that last contained St Mel’s Brown Ale. The chocolate, caramel, and malt flavours in St Mel’s Brown Ale really compliment the triple distilled malt, making for a sweet and very moreish whiskey. Exceptionally smooth overall with long-lingering malt notes and sweet oak spice.

Tasting Notes from the Producer | |
Aromas (without water) | Sweet dairy chocolate notes present initially with exotic fruit and cantaloupe melon. A dryness which evokes aroma of brazil nut complements the sweet malt base, teasing what is to follow. |
Flavour | Exceptionally soft and sweet, with honey and brown sugar dominating. The delicious malt flavour combines with cantaloupe and a touch of mandarin orange before drying delicately on the side of the mouth. |
