Arran
Arran where amongst the first of the new wave of modern Scottish distilleries. It was built at a time when confidence was just returning to the industry (1993) and it's first spirit flowed in 1995. The style of whisky made is surprisingly soft for an Island whisky, with a malty, smooth and lightly peated character. More warehousing has been added recently and they use a large range of cask types, but mainly ex-bourbon and ex-sherry. All their whiskies are un-coloured and un-chilfiltered.
